It makes me cringe when people blame memory loss, weight gain and aches and pains to normal aging as if there is nothing one can do about it, ignoring their role in their own health. And that role is actively improving one’s health as well as not thinking and dreading getting older. I would love to see our society take a fresh approach to aging and actually hold it in high regard, seeing the wisdom and beauty in it. I know I do, and that is mostly due to having some really incredible role models such as my guest and Goddess of the Month, Edna Northrup.
Edna contributes her grace in aging to having always taken really good care of her health with eating right, lots of physical activity and a supportive family life and sense of community. It brings me such joy to report that Edna doesn’t take any prescription medications rather she proactively does the things that provide her great health instead of needing to repair the body after things go wrong. And regardless of your age and past abuse, you can always improve starting today.
