Young, fit and healthy, Mary Finlayson was not a candidate for having a stroke, yet circumstances that resulted while training for a marathon, she found her whole life turned upside down without the ability to care for herself, let alone her two young daughters. This is an incredible story, but what I like best about it is that Mary was able to pass on her Mom’s example to her kids. It would have been really easy to get weighed down by the stroke, and instead Mary is in inspiration to us all!

Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a
sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
