Goddess of the Month ~ White Buffalo Woman

White Buffalo Woman

The Native American goddess, White Buffalo Woman, delivered powerful and universal wisdom, including, “We are as one: Earth, sky, all living things, the two legged, the four legged, the winged ones, the trees, the grasses. Together with the people they are all related, one family.” White Buffalo Woman reminds us to seek harmony among all people, all creatures and all of nature.

Inviting White Buffalo Woman into the Modern Goddess’ world

1) Draw upon the wisdom of White Buffalo Woman and see all of creation, including plants and animals, the sky and oceans, and every single person as sacred. What we do to one, we do to all, and to ourselves. Extend compassion to all creatures and practice reverence for life. Is it necessary to kill the spider on the wall? Take her to safety instead…and see how that feels.
2) The time has come for all people, all races, to come together to heal the earth and create peace and understanding amongst her inhabitants. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Walk with White Buffalo Woman toward peace by embracing all people. Remind yourself in every moment to act upon a perceived wrong not with judgment or anger, but with forgiveness and peace. The ripple effect on mankind and all the earth will soon be seen, and you are a part of that healing.
3) White Buffalo woman advised those she appeared to, to live life as if it is a prayer. Bring joyful, prayerful ceremony into your life. Nia dancing and Yoga act as a physical prayer. Meditation and quietude allow spirit to speak within us. Acts of kindness are demonstrations of spirit. Honor yourself, and honor all. Life is a sacred prayer when lived consciously in harmony, peace and love.

Affirmation: (Audio above)

I embrace all of humankind, plants and animals as my relations; inseparable, we walk together in peace and harmony.

Meditation: (Audio above)
Invite White Buffalo Woman to be part of this meditation, that we may feel her sense of connection with all of life, and thus radiate it out toward others. Begin by getting completely comfortable. Know that if at any time you must shift or move to become comfortable during this meditation, it will only serve to relax you further. Begin to breathe…breathe in the white light and wisdom of White Buffalo Woman. Exhale or release the tension that arises from separation with others and with nature. Breathe in the connection you inherently have with all of life…feel loved and supported by the earth below you, and nurtured and sustained by the sky above you. Feel the eagle’s wings lift your spirit higher as you soar above illusion; the spider as she weaves the story of your life with all people’s and all of creation;  the buffalo as she signals a time of abundance and plenty for all. Feel the turtle, the personification of goddess energy, as she reminds us to give back to the Earth Mother as she has given unto us; and the butterfly, who assists us in transforming our lives as need be, releasing what does not serve us as a person, a people, a planet, and imbuing us with the strength and courage to shine our true and beautiful colors.
Continue to breathe in the white, purifying light of White Buffalo Woman and while you do so, invite people and animals, trees and flowers, rivers and oceans, mountains and plains, the sky, the wind into your presence.  See the loin lay down with the lamb and enemies sit down together at the table with the intention of living in peace. Envision people in your own life with whom you are impatient or angry and see them as reflections of yourself, really only wanting to be accepted and loved. Have compassion …maybe they don’t know how to be loved or to accept it. See yourself wrapping your arms around them and feel the love-light healing you both. Any time you feel like you are drifting into old ways, recall the wisdom of White Buffalo Woman…we are all one, one heart, one spirit.
Hold the entire planet in the healing white love-light. Pray for her well-being. Express your gratitude for her abundance and beauty, and the life, love, and lessons we share with all of creation. State your desire for everlasting peace and harmony. ??Sit quietly now with White Buffalo woman until you are ready to arise. Imagine creatures, or the gifts of nature becoming one with you. Carry them in your heart. Listen to your inner wisdom, and see where you are guided.
Da naho! Wi:yo:h! (It is said! It is good!)
